Blanca

This exhibition by Sandra Gamarra (Lima, Peru, 1972) presents a set of exercises that combine a hybrid of painting, sculpture, video, text and site specific installation around the supposed neutrality of the white cube. Gamarra uses painting as a tool to extract information from the sedimentation of the container and its contents and places the viewer as an intruder rather than a visitor. The artist questions the possibility of emptiness and absence camouflaged in the whiteness of the gallery.
