MONTSERRAT SOTO (Barcelona, 1961)
From January 29 to March 1, 2013
The images presented by Montserrat Soto at the exhibition titled ”Tiempo Roto”, at the Juana de Aizpuru Gallery, represent places that are spread out in time. They bring to the gallery the essence of the sites we have inhabited, and in doing so, the images are blurred and brought back lo life, so that we can direct our eyes to a new evolution, a new future.
Tiempo roto is a part of the Project in which Montserrat Soto has been working for the last few years, about different communities in the world and their evolution. This project goes under the name of “Doom city, from the nomadic men to the nowhere men”. This work is the creation of a personal archive about the current state of some communities. It wishes to show, through its processes, peculiarities of our planet as a place and of men as a species. It is aimed towards finding the details, hidden in both large and small societies, which speak about our contemporaneity
